Edison Chronicle is a free browser card game built around the card pool of 28 April 2010 and the Forbidden & Limited List of 1 March 2010 — the era players call the Edison format. Nothing needs to be installed and no account is created.
Every duel runs on the server with an authoritative rules engine, a WebAssembly build of the same rules core used by established Yu-Gi-Oh! simulators. Each browser receives only the view it is entitled to: a face-down hand stays hidden, and deck order stays private.
| Story chronicles | Two independent campaigns: a 5D’s chronicle with nine chapters and 36 required encounters, and a Duel Monsters chronicle with ten chapters and 40 required encounters. Together with optional character episodes and collection assignments there are 123 playable encounters. They are condensed adaptations, not episode-for-episode recreations. |
|---|---|
| Solo duels | A local opponent that plays by the same rules and sees an ordinary player's view. It uses no cloud service and no language model. Difficulty and thinking speed are set separately. |
| Duels with friends | One player opens a room, the other joins with the room code. After a coin toss the winner chooses who starts. |
| Ranked duels | A public queue pairs two real players by rating, starting at 1000 points. There is no bot substitute; private rooms and solo duels stay unranked. |
| Cards and decks | The deck workshop lists 3,672 cards; 3,628 of them are legal under the March 2010 list. Decks can be exported and imported as deck codes or YDK files. |
There is no registration, no password and no email address. Your collection, campaign progress and cosmetics belong to a private profile key stored in your browser. “Back up & transfer profile” shows that key so you can carry the profile to another device.
The interface is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Russian and Simplified Chinese. The language is part of the settings and is stored locally; translations ship with the game and no external service is called while you play.
